QRD SPARK N7 Firmware Update Tutorial
This guide explains how to update the QRD SPARK N7 controller firmware using a Windows PC, USB cable, and the official QRD firmware program.
Before You Start
Prepare the following:
- QRD SPARK N7 controller
- Windows PC
- Original USB-C cable
- Official QRD firmware program
- Stable USB port on the computer
Important: Use the firmware version listed on the official QRD firmware page. Firmware pages may be updated over time, so avoid relying only on an old downloaded file.
Step 1: Download and Open the Firmware Program
- Visit the official QRD firmware page and download the firmware program for QRD SPARK N7.
- If the download is blocked by firewall or antivirus software, allow the file only if it was downloaded from the official QRD website.
- If needed, temporarily pause third-party antivirus protection during download, then enable it again immediately after downloading.
- Locate the downloaded firmware file.
- Double-click the file to launch the firmware program.
Step 2: Connect the Controller in Firmware Update Mode
- Make sure the QRD SPARK N7 is switched to 【PS】/【PS】mode and completely powered off,
- Confirm that no LED lights are illuminated.
- Press and hold the Triangle[△] button firmly.
- While still holding Triangle[△], connect the controller to the computer using a USB cable.
- Keep holding Triangle[△] until the UPDATE
button
appears in the firmware program.
- Release the Triangle[△] button only after the UPDATE button appears.
Important: When the controller is successfully recognized by the firmware program, it is normal for the controller to show no LED lights.
Step 3: Start the Firmware Update
- Confirm that the UPDATE button is visible in the firmware program.
- Click UPDATE to start the firmware update.
- Wait for the update process to complete.
- Do not disconnect the USB cable.
- Do not close the firmware program.
- Do not power off the computer during the update.
Interrupting the update may cause the controller to remain in firmware update mode or become temporarily unresponsive.
Step 4: Confirm the Update Was Successful
The update is complete when the controller restores normal LED and power behavior.
After the update finishes:
- Disconnect the USB cable.
- Press the Q / HOME button to power on the controller.
- Confirm that the controller responds normally.
- Pair or reconnect it with your console, PC, or mobile device if needed.
- If the controller still won’t power on after the firmware update and after unplugging the USB-C cable, please charge it with a 5V/1A charger or connect it to a PC via USB for 2–3 hours, then try turning it on again.
