This update addresses the recent compatibility issues caused by Sony’s latest PS5 system update (v25.06-12.00.00.43). Some users reported that the QRD Spark N5, when used with the BlackPill Converter, could no longer connect properly to the PS5. With firmware V3.06, these connection problems have been fully resolved.

2. How to Update the QRD BLACKPILL CONVERTER (Windows PC)

    Important Precaution

    Improper firmware update operations may cause controller malfunction. Please follow the steps strictly. If the update fails or the controller behaves abnormally, refer to the troubleshooting section at the end.

Step 1 — Download

  • Download the V3.09 Firmware Updater from the official QRD website

 

Step 2 — Run the Updater

  • Open the firmware update tool on your Windows PC

Before downloading, disable the computer’s firewall and all third-party antivirus software to prevent download failure due to program interception.
2. Locate the downloaded firmware file and double-click to launch it.
    If a C++ error prompt appears when opening the file:
① Try right-clicking the file, select Properties > Compatibility, check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode", and choose a compatible Windows version to run the file.
② If the error persists, attempt the update on a computer with a different Windows operating system.

  • Do not plug in the converter yet

 

Step 3 — Enter Update Mode

  • Make sure the BlackPill converter is not connected

  • Press and hold the “PAIR” button

  • While holding the button, insert the BlackPill converter into the PC

  • After the converter is fully inserted, release the PAIR button

 

Step 4 — Start Update

  • In the updater tool, click Update

  • The firmware flashing process will begin automatically

  • Do not remove the converter during the update

  • When complete, a Success message will be displayed

Your BlackPill converter is now updated to V3.09.
