How to Enter Firmware Update Mode

Before updating, prepare:

• QRD VORTEX F5 handheld console

• Windows PC

• USB data cable

• Latest QRD VORTEX F5 firmware package

• Firmware update / flashing tool

Before starting the update, make sure the VORTEX F5 has sufficient battery power.

Update Process

 

1. Download and unzip the latest QRD VORTEX F5 firmware package.

"Step1. DriverAssitant_v5.1.1" : Install Driver tool

"Step2. RKDevTool_Release_v2.84" : Open the RKDevTool.exe

 

"Step3. RM550K_F5_EE4.5_20250331_OLDBATTERY_EMMC" 

2.  Click the "Firmware" button and upload the file "RM550K_F5_EE4.5_20250331_OLDBATTERY_EMMC" 

 

3. Connect the VORTEX F5 to the PC using a USB data cable.

• Press and hold the "Select" button, before plugging into the computer.
• Wait for the PC and firmware update tool to detect the VORTEX F5. - Found a MASHROW device
• Release the "Select" button after the device successfully enters firmware update mode.

Key Combination:

• Press and hold the "Select" button
  

4. Upgrade

Click the Upgrade button.

• Disconnect the VORTEX F5 only after the firmware tool confirms that the update has been completed successfully.
